As we arrived on Friday evening, we couldn’t help but notice it had been dumping rain for at least a few days. To see if the trails would be at all rideable, we headed out in my pickup to the trailhead. 100’ later and my truck couldn’t even make it up the slight incline. It was just too muddy.

With several mountain biking lights, we jumped on our bikes and went for quick nightride. In the dumping rain. The hill my truck couldn’t make was prime for 3rd gear wheelies on the bikes. We only did 10 miles, but with every corner a foot-down, full throttle drifter, it was a blast. With our little lights, it was a pretty blind ride. Enormous Jackrabbits kept running across the road. It wasn’t a max-trail moment, but it was a fun little ride. |

A tributary to the Merced River, maybe. There's a little bucket down there- it's probably for mining.

The only way to get into the trails. This is actually a trail as well, but it's under 2' of water.
